On Dec. 24, Wyatt Properties, LLC, acquired The Tower at 530 Beacon Parkway West to provide office spaces for small to medium sized businesses. Wyatt Properties purchased the building for $1.275 million and plans to spend an additional $1 million in renovations over the next couple of years. MotionMobs president and co-founder Taylor Wyatt owns Wyatt Properties with her husband, Spencer.
Previously a partner in the development of the Blackwell Building, which houses Carrigan’s Public House and MotionMobs, the Wyatts have recent experience with commercial real estate targeting small companies and a strong background in technology.
“Our combined backgrounds in both technology and real estate give us the unique expertise to update this property to make it an invaluable resource to growing small businesses. Its location close to downtown and with easy access to Interstate 65, Homewood and Vestavia is also a major selling point for tenants,” Spencer Wyatt said.
Many small businesses don’t have the capital to invest in luxury office space that offers amenities like fiber internet connection or amazing views of the city skyline. As a small business owner herself, Taylor is excited to offer affordable, fantastic offices to other companies and encourage the growth in Birmingham’s technology sector.
The Tower Building is a nine-story building that boasts approximately 60,000 square feet with office suites ranging from approximately 1,500 square feet to 6,300 square feet. The building also has individual executive offices for rent that share a conference room, kitchen, and lobby space. Constructed in 1979, the building was originally built to house Drummond Coal Company’s headquarters. The Tower Building provides unmatched views of downtown, Homewood, and beyond.
The Tower Building currently houses Securit360, Youth Villages, CUTCO, Mutual Savings Insurance, Alabama Department of Public Health, iON Integrated Solutions and more.
